Kellen Update

Most of you know that last Friday, Kellen was playing football in the pool with her cousins and she attempted to catch a pass - unfortunately, Kellen's athleticism momentarily disappeared (??!!) and she injured her pinky finger. Initially, we thought it was jammed, but her Uncle Jim (a high school coach with years of injury experience,) thought we should take her to have it checked out. On Monday, we had it X-rayed and found out that she had split the head of the knuckle. On Tuesday, we visited the hand specialist who took one look at her X-ray and said, "Hmm... you don't see this everyday." He scheduled surgery for this morning and we just arrived back home after a successful "fix." Two screws were inserted to reattach the bone and she has it splinted and needs to wear a sling until she gets the stitches out. She's armed with lots of pain medication and her computer - so she should be feeling better in the next few days. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and concern.

No More Alligators, Dolphins, Lizards, Pelicans or Sharks...

We're back home and that means a whole different kind of wildlife. While we were eating supper tonight, I spotted a flock of wild turkeys in the backyard. There were about 4 or 5 adults and several younger ones.

I know we'll miss all the Florida animals... but we'll just have wait til next year!

Winding Down Vacation

Kyle took some great pictures of the sunset one evening. Kellen said she'd "photoshop" the electric wires out of the picture.






Once again, vacation has been great. This year was a little different without Robbie being here the entire time. Everyone missed him. It's made me renege on a promise I made to not help him look for another job. Next year, we want him here the entire time... not slaving away the Grove School.

First Full Day in Florida

Started out a little discouraging when the weather was dismal... but that quickly changed and we headed out to the beach and pool. We needed more arms to carry all the stuff to the beach. The boys had a blast jumping in the waves. Hit Dustin's last night and it looks like it'll be Boston Seafood tonight.

Probably should have thrown away that Costco-Sized box of AirHeads.
