What Braeden Likes To Drink

Braeden was telling me all the things he likes to drink - Well, I grabbed the camera and decided to record it.

Robbie Staying In Shape

When Robbie was home last weekend, he decided to catch up on his exercising. Of course, this is in addition to his bowling obsession.

Robb's Swedish Adventure

Robb returned last Thursday after a trip to Sweden. The first couple of days were spent at a resort where they ice-fished and went snowmobiling. They enjoyed some typical Swedish food - including elk roast, Swedish meat balls and another wild game dinner. (He thought maybe it was wild boar.) After the resort, he had a couple of business meetings and then returned home. The next "exciting" place he's headed is Newark. ??

Stuck Truck

Bryan, Kate and the boys came over to go sledding on Sunday afternoon. It all started innocently enough when Robb wanted to start the ATV to pull the kids around the yard on their sleds. The battery needed a jump so Robb drove down the hill to hook it up. Shouldn't have been an issue because he has a winch on the front of his truck. Well... one small problem... the motorized winch didn't work. After standing around and trying to come up with a plan, Bryan drove his Jeep down the hill to try and pull him out. Unfortunately, that didn't work. So, the only solution was to dig (literally) the truck out of the backyard - by hand. It took him about 3 hours, but he emerged victorious. He told me that if his life depended on it, he'd be able to get it out - well, lo and behold he did! (Of course, he's more than a little sore today!)

SnowBall Fight

We played in the snow yesterday and naturally, a snowball fight broke out. Unfortunately, Kellen ended up with quite a bit of snow shoved in her face. Wiley didn't fare much better as his cheek smashed into Robbie's knee. But, even with all the "injuries," everyone had a good time.

Friday Night Returns

Well, once again both Kellen and Robbie returned home on a Friday night. Of course, their laundry arrived with them! ;)

Another Snowy Day

It's not a monster snowstorm, but it's several inches today. Yesterday they went sledding on ice and poor Braeden forgot to jump off the sled and took quite a hit when he ended up in the woods. Today, they could hardly get going down the hill because of the deep snow.

Braeden still wants to eat the snow and I thought it would be fine - but as you can see from the picture, he managed to find some dirty snow and proceeded to spit the grit out! They also enjoyed using their new "snow-ball makers." I wasn't sure if they would work or not, but they certainly did!

I Guess Braeden Was Thirsty

Please forgive the quality of the first video. I had it on auto-focus and for some reason it kept going in and out of focus. I am only putting it on here because it is so "Braeden."

Shopping

Robb's out of town, so the boys and I drove down to UConn and picked up Kellen. We decided to go shopping at the LL Bean store. We visited the UConn Dairy Bar and Co-Op. Braeden insisted on getting a football and Wiley came away with 2 UConn hats. What a day! Here's Wiley in front of LL Bean.

Some Outside Fun

I promised the boys we'd go outside today, but I wouldn't let them use their sleds because it was too icy. Even without sleds, they managed to find a way to go down the hill.

Power-less

So, just another February morning in CT. It started with Robb chipping away at his truck. Then, the power started going off and on before it finally went out at 10:30. No big deal... it'll come right back, it always does. Well, we decided to go out for lunch and scope out the neighborhood. No power in sight - all the way to Suffield Center. By the way, since we have a well, that also means no water and of course, no heat. It got down to about 55 in the house before Ryan and I were forced to go outside in the slop and try to get some firewood that wasn't encased in ice. Then we attempted to clear the driveway. Our neighbor had compassion on us and drove over in his tractor. Wah-lah! The driveway was cleared in about 5 minutes! Well, the power came back around 5:00 - so I guess we'll survive another day.

The Family Back Together

Both Robbie and Kellen were home over the weekend. Robbie needed to leave Saturday at noon to get back to bowling and his band practice. We had a great evening with Bryan, Kate and the boys Saturday night. I'm just praying that my "sick kids" didn't pass along the germs. by the way, the 2nd bottle of Children's Motrin was cracked open 2 days ago.

No, I'm Certainly Not a Democrat...

Just thought I would post a picture from Ryan's latest Barack Obama rally. This was his 2nd time to be a member of the "Obama Press."

He doesn't look sick...

Braeden's got one of those "kid illnesses." He's been running a temperature since Tuesday night. But, when the temp isn't spiking, he's happy as can be! When Wiley found out that Braeden was sick, he stayed away from him for about 5 minutes, saying, "I don't want to get sick." Of course, that didn't last long - they're joined at the hip! So, when I went to the drug store to purchase some more Children's Motrin, I went ahead and got 2 bottles! I'm ready for Wiley to come down with it.

Wiley just informed me (4:30 pm) that he doesn't feel well. Good thing I purchase 2 bottles! Here we go...

Super Bowl Party's a little small this year...

So, the party started with Wiley saying, "It would be 'specialer' if our big brothers and big sister were here, too."

We tried to offer a little "healthy" food, but naturally, buffalo wings remained the big attraction.

Our version of the half-time show. We were definitely "free fallin."

The Proof...

I'm always telling you that Braeden attacks Wiley. Well, here's the proof.

Mission Accomplished

Well, we (mostly "I") finished sorting and reassembling all the toys in the basement. Whew! Now, hopefully they'll keep it in order for at least a couple of days.
